Biden
Congratulations on a victory for Equality. So...there is change. I understand why they are playing it safe at this current time, though I disagree with holding fire as now is the time for a harder push to crack open the fault lines, this speech still marks a significant shift historically.
Biden opens with 'Fellow Americans' a quote from Lincoln, "bought to the dance" which is warrior speak, and highlights the many important women around him and the method of democratic rejuvenation, with reference to his wife and the insight she brings regarding the military and education. There is a certain focus on equality, with historical references to Lincoln and the anti-slave movement, through the civil rights movements including core quotes from MLK and into civil rights progressions of LQBT and women, and ref to our struggle and delay in getting as far as we have. Kamala Harris is a first, as is Stephanie Byers, following racial and gender divisions. There is a distinct feminist sociological approach and understanding of intersectionalism.
He notes this as a "victory of the people" with understanding that there has been a population boom that needs to be factored into global considerations. His core message is "not divide but unify" and emphasises "it's about people". Which demonstrates agreement with a global understanding and critique of politics. "Dont tell me it's not possible in the US, it's long over due" and acknowledges the need "to make America respected around the world again". This election has "bent the moral arc more toward Justice" and he claims Harris as family. She and the other elected representatives, women and often not white, are who secured voting blocks from voters who have felt marginalised by politics. "This is what America looks like, now this is what I want the administration to look like". He names the intersectional categories of peoples who have fought for and won equality, and the acknowledges the ongoing necessity "the African American community stood up for me...you always have my back and I have yours."
This matters.
Its time to "heal"; a divided nation is a weak nation. "reap and sow"; they reap what they sow, we sow for the future. "cool"; hot, foolish anger needs to turn to cool logic and clarity. "Not enemies, Americans"; ownership of the problem and solution.
His mandate focus: decency, fairness, hope and science against the great battles of our time: disease, climate change and "systematic racism". That latter is significant, this is a key phrase in feminist theory and one which formalises the acceptance that racism goes beyond the individual and is a responsibility and action of society extending still into systematic functions. He speaks of a "fair shot", the right to freedom of opportunity; a part of equality which is often a key failure despite America being the Land of...the irony is intentional, as is perhaps the bitter fact of unjust shootings and fatalities.
He reaffirms the keyword vitality, life, and goes on to make a point of hiring actual scientists and have action plans "built on the bedrock of science". This is a key phrase in social/educational/political divide and places emphasis onto his reference to the First Lady's experience and insight as an educator. This keyword comes from the bedrock where dinosaur bones were found and denied in the ideology of white christians and subsequent impact on education. In the USA this marks a stance shift of those who seek truth and rigorous science over those who wish to select facts, manipulate, and propagate lies for the purpose of propaganda- the sort who are frequently climate change deniers, who derailed Al Gore's presidential campaign and led to the election of George fucking Bush, and within industries those who shift goal posts to allow for harmful practise to be legalised and utilised commercially from toxic by products, harmful emissions, excessive use of fossil fuels, poisons in food and water supplies, non-effective unstable medications and inappropriate use of patents.
This is a core issue at the heart of many problems and one which has both global attention and global agreement and work toward improvement.
It is recognised as essential for our future, from any viable form of future at all to disallowing the continued fascist control of both understanding and production. The simple fact is they are responsible for the majority of significant global crime, enforcing harmful ideology and social strata, are too ignorant to achieve true scientific advance and are as outdated as the dinosaurs they denied or claimed were demons. The same people who either denied the existence of Native Americans or believed they were aliens. These beliefs led to white washing of history and erasure, including "pre-history" a la Flintstones via the allegation that all early people were neanderthal like until good, white, christian folks...popped into existence? Note Biden's hesitation of emphasis before saying Native American. We are First Peoples and have held a continuous history that tells lie of their claim, the history and development of aviation, and with further scientific advances is frequently confirmed as relatively accurate (there is a two fold problem with pin pointing time via oral and translated histories and with scientific dating methods...we have an alight ish understanding).
Biden asks, what lacked? Compassion, empathy concern.
Which pandemic does he speak of? Before covid this was often the key word in relation to the lack of morality with supremacist ideologies in the scientific community and industries, in response to the way big pharma emphasised pandemic possibility to increase contracts and less rigorous controls. Which stemmed from research into the effects of climate change: a concerning point was raised that with increased radiation and an unstable EMQ system there would be a further increase in genetic mutations as diseases such as cancer and in mutations of microbes, bacteria and other small lifeforms such as the flu, MRSA, zombie fungus, venoms. This demonstrates another significant need to reverse climate change and localised practises that instigate such changes, and have suitable advance in these areas of science. Big pharma has nothing to offer but further harm and attempts at inducing moral panics from which to profit from.
As they have been doing. This response is evident in sales of PPI, testing, and track and trace. It is ineffectual, very expensive and the science of which was already easy to produce and easily accessible. Capitalism dictated a need for third party contracts for the simple purpose of profit not aid. There could easily be national production and fair trade between nations to empower health care process. Health care should never be about profit. People's lives should not be weighed by their monetary worth but excepted as a value in and of themselves. This is the core truth of the bedrock perspective and of the demand for ideological shift: from slavery to industry to sciences. That is progress. This is how equality will come about. This is what will lead to peace.
Yes, this work will be hard for those who have so ardently fought against. Yes, for us the people, Americans, this work has been hard: whether on the battle field, the picket line, the frontline, in the home, in the office, in the streets, in the media and in the strain of our minds when understanding the secrets of the universe or processing the sheer massive amounts of data... and in our hearts as we sorrow for those lost, for the harm lived and the pain instigated by ignorance, as we face what has been wrought and weep, then raise our chins and pick up thought, pick up pace, pen, sword, tools, inspiration, love and raise our fists... and fight on.
Yes, we need to heal; heal the wound, infected by corruption, pull it out by the root and heal. Then grow strong.
For this we need co-operation, for people to choose to be better.
Biden, we will hold you to the call.
"The American story is about the slow but steadily widening the opportunities in America, and make no mistake too many dreams have been deferred for too long. We must make the promises of the country real for everyone."
"About who are and what we want to be...Lincoln in 1860..." This speech was partially written by a black, female relative of Lincoln. With a focus on freedom and, as found in the constitution, America being a home for all peoples. America, as a union, was founded against slavery and standing against christian slavers in Europe who implement the catholic church's plan, and stood in alliance with those in Europe and Africa who fought against slavery and together in 1886 won with the abolishment of slavery and in the USA with the Civil Rights Act, and in 1887 the Reconstruction Act, 13th & 14th amendments, banning all forms of slavery.
This is what MLK referred to, and this dream that has been deferred for too long.
FDR understood both Irish history and what was happening in Germany and sought to forstall with the New Deals. The influence of the catholic church must be understood. These deals were founded on the Civil Rights Act and moved away from the puritan approach. This significantly enabled working class rights and is reinforced by his work with the patents office and contributions to science. From Depression to Progress. However this improvement of rights for whites led to the suburban, middle classes which Biden mentioned at the beginning of his speech and which became a dead end. This is something to consider. We need to continue improving rights but do not want a repeat of the past mistakes and need rejuvenation in this class also.
JFK: an incredibly low point in American history whose corruption took status, following war learnt lessons in propaganda and advent of TV, as celebrity. With family values of rape, domestic violence, incest, pedophilia, toxic masculinity and descendant from Nazis. Politically: deep corruption and fraud, investment in slavery, drugs and human experimentation. Endless war. Reds under the bed. The CIA going batshit crazy and the ongoing war with South America. Atrocities in Asia and against Cuba and Haiti. The establishment of rape culture. The promotion of gun culture. The fuck 'em all and win attitude. The prolific assassinations and murder, inc JFK and Monroe, the legacy of which can be seen in the way Jill grabs Biden at the end of the speech in reaction to that bang. And what is this era symbolised by? An up skirt shot of Marilyn Monroe. And what have we just left? The pussy grabber.
Is that who America wants to be? That was never what was meant by the new frontier, that was supposed to be an agreement to advancing science and nuclear disarmament. That was the gold we were prospecting for. What did they do instead? Napalm. Institutionalised pedophilia. Fascism.
"Can we fulfil that promise? Yes, we can." Japan has. This is a clear reference to Obama himself, as the black man he is, as the symbol of advancing power of equality, and as they both are as originating from the political trenches of a perspective that stands for equality, progress and scientific understanding.
"Soul of the nation" and "the angels and darkest impulses" are references to the dichotomy between church led traditionalism into the development of pseudo intellectualism, pop psych and atheism. These are two hands of the same problem. In one we have patriarchal, god-fearin', gun-totin' reeeal Americahns and in the other we have brittle logic of repression and lack of inherent goodness due to a lack of soul or any spirit used to make people as nothing but a cog in the machine. When you hear complaint about the left, and read all that dodgy stuff, this is where it comes from and it is intentional. It is well and good that the socialist left is becoming centralised by modation.
There is also historical understanding and warning. Remember who these angels once were and are. We have wings. We predate the patriarchy. We are raven, crow, eagle. We are that emblem, we wrote that battle hymn. We are the foundations of Justice. We are not last nor lost, but first.
Ae morae. Ae Morrigan. Ae Mohegan. Ae ae.
Lady Justice. I believe.
Never give up. Never give in.
Here, re comments on cures for alziemers and cancer with a science focus and the weight of impact from the situation with South America in the global context, and in the highlighting of corrupt processes, it is implied there is going to be a significant shift in approach to the war on drugs. The latest scientific advances in relation to treatment of those diseases are with cannabis. South America has led success in transitioning cartels into medicine production and have good relations with Africa and during the recent Pan Asian Council one of the first and significant agreements was agreement here. Although there has been so much war in the middle east they are also significantly contributing to these medical advances and are willing to engage in peace negotiations and establish an international market and drug production outside of both criminal terrorist and white-slaver-founded big pharma. Globally this is already happening and this is the path to peace, prosperity and unification.
Such shift, such a path will also have serious impact on the war on terror. It will become much easier, even terrorist groups would be more willing to peacefully negotiate if the deal was not with the above mentioned corruption who, historically accurately, they recognise as the enemy. There were successful agreements in the early years of the Iraq war when targeting those who produced chemical weapons and resources. For example the UK, USA, Russia and ISIS worked together to locate and bomb those plants. It is possible. It is necessary.
It is also clear from this speech, despite mainstream media and Republican claims to the contrary, that the President will enact medicare and green deals. Will take seriously the need for justice reform and upholding equality. America needs to let go of corruption and racial tension, move on from sexism and ignorance and understand what the future looks like if they want to be a part of it.
So does the UK. Here we have felt the yoke of corruption for about a thousand years longer than our American counter parts and we too have fought and led in the equal rights movement. We too need to find and elect representatives who are willing and able to fight for the future.
The President has already issued a warning. Norfolk, Iceni, stands with Ireland. The USA stands with Ireland. Remember what Thatcher and Reagan did. Remember what the catholic church did.
No more.
In solidarity.
Harris
Today, after a message of hope from a position of power I am proud to call myself American when I have not been for a long time.
As Biden spoke of ongoing struggles, Kamala gracefully claimed the wins we already have with a gentle respect for the cost. I must admit; I wept. As a girl, this seemed impossible but that did not stop us it only made us more determined. As a mother I raised my son with this understanding and he is amazing.
Too long we have put up with the act of those in power that they care, have compassion, want equality. Too many times we deal with the consequences of hollow actions based on empty words; those unfulfilled promises, those deferred dreams.
"Protecting our democracy: it takes struggle, it takes sacrifice. But there is joy in it. There is progress, becuase we, the people, have the power to build a better future."
"the poll workers and election officials who have worked across our country, who have worked tirelessly to make sure every vote is counted- our nation owes you gratitude." From Biden's battle hymn references to Kamala's Simone rejoiner, despite the Republican's wailing, particularily following the notorious ballot fraud in Florida and consistent attempts to disallow or discount votes of non white and marginalised proportions of the population in earlier elections, here we must acknowledge and celebrate the scientifically proven fact that the more women employed in ballot processing the more efficient and accurate the count. The more women vote and campaign the more equality, justice, is represented and legislated. This is inequivivocal.
"You have protected the integrity of our democracy."
And yes, this fact is known by the Republican party, and other far right groups, and is utilised in both propaganda and fraud. They do have a portion of women that aided them. However we always held the door for the Phyllis schafers, and we continue to do so. You do not need to be the sacrifice. Nobody should go through that shit, that is the problem. That is what we battle: we are winning.
"Your courage, your resilience, generosity of spirit. You marched, and organised for equality and justice, for *our* lives and for our planet. And then; you voted. You delivered a clear message: you choose hope, unity, decency, science and yes: truth."
Women prevail.
"My mother....when she came here at the age of 19 she maybe, um, didnt quite imagine this moment."
Are you sure about that? Coz all Indians are like that, good or bad, and we are going to have to deal with the bad, ain't we. Your heritage is telling. Hello, sister.
"...but she believed, so deeply, in America. Where a moment like this is possible and so I am thinking of her and about the generations of women: black women [cheers], Asian, white, Latina, Native American women [cheers] who, through out nation's history have paved the way for this moment tonight. Women who have fought and sacrificed so much for equality and liberty and justice for all. Including the black women [cheers] who are often, too often, over looked but so often proved they are the backbone of our democracy."
This has been a very long war.
To the point where, in 2020, Biden has the "audacity", and yeah it really is, "to break one of the most substantial barriers that exists in our country and elect a woman as Vice- President."
*You will not be the last*
"To our children, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message: dream with ambition, lead with conviction and see yourselves in a way that others may not....simply becuase they have never seen it before but know that we will applaud you every step of the way."
So, lay down your burdens.
The door is open.
We are the flowers in the field of battle, let them not be poppies. In blood, we live.
You, are the future.
I raise my glass and drink to you all.
In love,
Ash Fox
